A special investigation team of the Narcotics Control Bureau, which is in charge of the Mumbai Cruise Drugs case, has summoned Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
A newly formed probe team led by NCB Deputy Director General Sanjay Singh arrived in Mumbai on Saturday to begin investigating six more drug cases, including Aryan's case.
The investigation team issued a summons to the star child on Saturday and summoned him for questioning on Sunday. This is consistent with his bail order and it states that the reason for calling NCB officials is that Aryan may be interrogated.
Sources told the Times of India that Aryan Khan may not be present at the NCB office today due to health reasons. However, Aryan may appear before the investigation team tomorrow for further questioning and investigation.
Co-accused Arbaaz Merchant may also be called for a statement of record, the report said.
Aryan had to appear at the NCB office on Friday on bail.
The probe team is also expected to record the statement of Samir Khan, son-in-law of Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik. He was arrested by the NCB in January this year and has recently been released on bail.
The report said a team of investigators had begun recording the statements of those involved in six cases.
The NCB said in a statement on Friday that the investigation team had taken responsibility for cases that had national and international implications.
The statement further said that no officer has been removed from his current post and they will co-operate in the investigation as required unless a specific order is issued against it.
