Harnaaz was announced as the winner of the 70th edition of the competition in the Israeli port city of Eilat at midnight on Sunday. She was crowned Miss Universe 2020 by Alma Andrea Meja Carmona, a fashion model from Mexico. The first runner-up in this year's event was Nadia Ferreira of Paraguay, the second runner-up was Lalela Maswan of South Africa.

Born in Chandigarh, India, Harnaaz is best known as a fashion model; He has also acted in two Punjabi language films.
Earlier, Harnaaz Sandhu had won several competitions including 'Miss Diva-2021' and 'Femina Miss India Punjab-2019'.
