What to do if smartphone falls into water: The situation when your smartphone can find itself in the water is not so rare. Of course, we try to protect it like the apple of an eye, but here's the bad luck - he accidentally fell out of his pocket and went straight into a puddle, or, even more piquant, you dropped him in the toilet! After a few seconds of panic and a call to help all the saints whom you just remember, calm down and try to save the situation. Naturally, the first thing you need to get it out of the water as quickly as possible. And then proceed strictly according to the rules, since many do just what is absolutely contraindicated in this situation!

Ways to save a smartphone after falling into water

1. First of all, after water procedures, you need to turn off the phone’s power and remove all the “stuffing” from it - SIM cards, power supply, memory card. Water alone will not do much harm to the gadget, but it can cause a short circuit, which is much worse. Set the phone upright to dry.

2. Try to dry your smartphone yourself. A vacuum cleaner with a narrow nozzle is quite suitable for this. With its help it is possible to draw the remains of liquid from all hard-to-reach places. Do not immediately after such manipulations try to check the operability of the device - believe me, it is not yet ready for work. Rice flakes or regular rice can be used as a moisture absorber. Immerse the phone completely in a container with cereal and leave it in this condition for a couple of days.

3. After that, you can try to bring the device back to life: insert the battery into place, turn it on, check the speakers. If nothing happens, try charging it. If this also did not help, then there are two ways out of the situation: go to the service center (maybe specialists will be able to bring the smartphone back to life better than you) or go straight to the store for a new gadget.

What can not be done

In no case do not try to turn on the phone that has just been in the water: a short circuit will nullify all attempts to revive it in the future. In order to avoid the same circuit, do not press the buttons - it will not help.

You do not need to shake it wildly to shake out drops of water, this will only ensure that moisture penetrates into those places where it did not exist.

The worst option is to dry the phone - blow it with a hairdryer or freeze the liquid in the refrigerator. In the first case, you can simply melt the small parts with hot air. Well, in the second - I can’t even imagine what this approach will lead to.

Unfortunately, no one will guarantee that following all these tips for saving a smartphone will help to keep it in its original form, and it will work as before after the “water procedures”. A lot of unforeseen circumstances can happen: the touch screen will become unusable and it will need to be replaced with a new one. Or, conversely, the screen will remain, but the battery will oxidize to such an extent that it will need to be completely replaced. The phone may stop “seeing” the SIM or memory card, or even all together, in any case, after such an incident, be prepared for a full or partial repair.

For those users with whom similar incidents of bathing a gadget happen all the time, it is better to initially buy waterproof models. With such a device, you can not just dip it every day, but even stir it with tea or coffee sometimes!
