Labor Day without work |
Labor Day without work: Do you smell small, skewers, sausages, beer, or
wine passing by the green places in the capital, in the middle of the workweek? Do you see the young Komsomolists on the street in the
parade? You can be sure - it is May 1 - the International
Day of Workers' Solidarity. It is said that 142 countries celebrate this
date (?!), Which, in essence, reflects the solidarity of workers at the end of
the century. XX, in order to facilitate and reduce working time. It
turns out that the working day reflects the struggle to shorten the working day
and reduce the burden on workers' shoulders. In addition, the working day
is celebrated outside of work - that is, it is a day of rest. The main
thing is that it is celebrated.
But, even if the holiday is debatable, the
contribution of those who work for the present and future of this country is
indisputable!
Who are the workers in Moldova?
The working-age in Moldova is 16-62 years for
men and 16-57 years for women. The "dry" figures of official
statistics tell us that 1 mln. 150 thousand people "carry out an
economic or social activity producing goods or services for at least one hour
per week, in order to obtain income in the form of wages, payment in kind or
other benefits", ie they are workers. In other words, at the moment,
32% of the population works in the national economy, earning an average of 3380
lei. Most of them working in the field of services (54.3%). The
prevalence of people employed in services is typical of all European countries
(and not only). However, the share of people employed in agriculture in
Moldova is 5 times higher than in the EU
Of the total number of those who work for the
homeland, only about 8% are civil servants and leaders, and almost 1/3 of the total employed population are unskilled workers.
In this country, everyone knows what mayors
and deputies, councilors and ministers do, and virtually no one wonders what
ordinary workers do. Those who, through physical effort, earn their living
by plowing the land or sweeping the streets. In essence, however, they are
the real workers, the protagonists of this holiday. It is to them that all
the attention and glory of this day should be given.
And we, through this article, congratulate all
the workers on this day, which may not even be a holiday in essence, but it is
at least an occasion to remember them. Congratulations to all the
representatives of the known and lesser-known professions, which are worth
mentioning: paraffin and polymer cheesemakers, manufacturers of abrasive cloth
articles, cable peelers, explorers of natural objects for collections, of bands
for locomotive speedometers, wax paste boilers, glue and impregnation mixture,
electroplating, laminate and pipe straightness, foremen at cheese maturation,
operators at the washing and cleaning unit, decorative drawing painters on
wood, etc.
