Brotherhood MP dies in Egypt without treatment: Hamdi Hassan, a former MP of the Muslim Brotherhood, has died in Egypt's notorious Al-Aqrab High-Security Prison. Human rights groups say the former Brotherhood MP died without treatment in prison. News Arab News.

Former MP Hamdi Hassan died last Thursday in the infamous Al-Akrab prison. The MP's family later reported his death on social media. Prison authorities did not say what caused his death in prison. However, a human rights group called El-Shehab claimed on its official Facebook page that the former Brotherhood MP had died in prison without treatment.

It is worth mentioning that Hosni Mubarak fell in the face of mass protests on February 11, 2011. Meanwhile, a new political party, the Muslim Brotherhood Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), was formed with the direct support of the Muslim Brotherhood, whose politics were banned, and Morsi was appointed its chairman.

Morsi was elected president in May 2012 and again in May by a landslide. At the time, the Muslim Brotherhood and the FJP officially recognized Mohamed Morsi as "the president of all peoples of Egypt."

However, after taking power, Morsi could not take any effective measures to save the decaying Egypt from collapse. Critics and opponents say Morsi failed to address the country's economic and security crisis. At the same time, he gave more importance to the Islamist program of the Muslim Brotherhood than to the interests of the country.

Within a year of taking office, the Egyptian people staged a protest against the Morsi government. Taking advantage of this, regional powers such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel supported the uprising against Morsi. In an official statement, Saudi Arabia called Morsi's supporters "terrorists."

After being elected president, Morsi stood by the oppressed Palestinians. He called for the Palestinians to gain control of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque by opening the Egyptian border for the besieged Gaza Strip.

At the same time, he sought to improve relations with Iran. These two steps of his became tomorrow. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel took to the streets to oust Morsi. There are allegations that the three countries spent large sums of money to provoke protests against Morsi.

On June 30, 2013, anti-Morsi protests spread across the streets of Egypt. On July 3, 2013, with the support of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, and the United States, the then army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ousted and imprisoned Morsi. The government of the influential Israeli Fatah al-Sisi has imprisoned Morsi and his party MPs on various pretexts. Many of them later died without treatment.
